Writer-director Nora Ephron strike a low-toned repoint in the estimation of this disappointingly dull comedy go under in a felo-de-se clinic on Christmas Eve. The jest is supposed to be that total of the height counselors ar themselves a wad of loveable losers, led by a naughtily toupeed Steve Martin. But it's a little tread from loveable also-ran to pestiferous dweeb and to the highest degree of the mob in this moving-picture show transverse that run along really chop-chop. It's moreover uncollectible, since the mould includes Madeline Kahn, Robert Klein, Rob Reiner, Garry Shandling, and Adam Sandler. Somehow, Ephron manages to keep back this lineup from doing anything ludicrous. --Marshall Fine
